Samson & Dana // A Beautiful DIY Arizona Wedding

I first met Samson and Dana at church. At the time, they were just friends who helped with our church worship team. Samson’s smooth vocals and guitar playing always mesmerized me and Dana, well, this soft spoken beauty could belt out a tune like you would not expect. She is a mast on the piano and created an atmosphere of worship that blew me away. It did not take long for these two to begin dating and their cuteness was too much. I think I actually called their relationship early on in an awkward off-handed comment (which turned out to be true!). This God fearing couple I loving named “Damson,” dated for a while before Samson popped the question and without a doubt Dana said yes!

I was honored to be asked to capture their wedding day, The amount of friends and family who stepped up to help from everything from setup, hair and makeup, catering, decor, and even flying the cake (yes it flew on someone’s lap!) from Seattle, Washington really made this an incredibly special day. One of my favorite details was the use of dried flowers for the bouquets and boutonnieres. They smelled better than any florals I had ever smelt before! And their venue, King of Kings Church in Goodyear, Arizona, stunned me with it’s minimalistic beauty and ornate stained glass windows. One of my favorite moments (there’s quite a few) were when Dana and Samson were prayed over by their friends and family. The true joy and expectation of a lifelong love and commitment was sweeter than I could imagine.

From onlookers for the first look and family on FaceTime half a world away, Dana and Samson were truly showered with love. The blend of families, friends and cultures created one heck of a dinner! The outdoor reception was perfect for a Spring wedding and the towering white walls of King of Kings was an incredible backdrop for some beautiful dance photos. Everyone partied the night away and ended with one heck of a sparkler exit. Damson ;), thank you guys for trusting me with this day. You are more loved than you two will ever know!
